視覚による触覚刺激のマスキングに関する研究

Abstract

The authors conducted research on how visual stimuli can affect the perception of tactile stimuli. The participants had 2 vibrators on their arm to present tactile stimuli (0.3 s of a 300 Hz sine wave) simultaneously with the visual stimuli, where a video shows either arm getting tapped or an image showing where to fix their eyes on. 7 different types of tactile stimuli were used with a maximum of 6 dB difference in the presented volume. The results show that visual stimuli may have an effect on masking tactile stimuli.
